Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist – Central Illinois (Within 1 Hour of Peoria)
General GI | Outpatient & Inpatient | Flexible Schedule

We are currently seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist with an active Illinois medical license to join a well-established healthcare group in Central Illinois, within an hour of Peoria. This is an excellent locum tenens opportunity with flexibility and strong support from the existing GI team.

Position Highlights:

  • Minimum Commitment: 5 consecutive shifts per month (more availability preferred)

  • Setting: Mix of outpatient clinic, ambulatory scopes, inpatient consults, and ED coverage

  • Call Coverage: Optional at the Locum's Request

  • Patient Load: Median productivity expectations; balance of new and existing patients

  • Team Environment: Collaborative group open to working with the physician on scheduling and coverage preferences

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat a range of acute and chronic GI conditions

  • Perform endoscopies and other GI procedures, No ERCP or EUS Required

  • Conduct hospital consults, inpatient rounding, and patient admits

  • Provide new patient access and follow-up care in outpatient settings

Requirements:

  • Active Illinois medical license

  • Board Certified in Gastroenterology

  • Availability for at least 5 consecutive shifts per month

  • Proficiency in general GI procedures and patient management across outpatient and inpatient settings
