GE Hospitalist coverage needed in Indiana !

Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist - Indianapolis, IN

Position Overview:

Ascend Medical Staffing is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for locum tenens coverage at a facility in Greenwood, Indiana. This opportunity follows a General GI Hospitalist Model with week-on/week-off scheduling and pager call coverage.

Key Dates & Scheduling:

• Mandatory Coverage: December 22, 2025 – January 1, 2026
• 2026 Availability: Week-on/week-off (Monday–Monday) beginning January 12, 2026
• Minimum Commitment: Must be available for at least one week per month in 2026

Clinical Details:

• Setting: Medical Center, 170 licensed beds, including 24 ICU beds
• Coverage Model: 7-day inpatient GI hospitalist coverage
• Procedures: Bread-and-butter GI only (no EUS/ERCP required)
• Support: Anesthesia/MAC available; conscious sedation optional
• Hours: Approx. 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (flexible based on census), followed by pager call
• Call Expectations: Rare after-hours call-ins; primarily pager coverage
• EMR: Epic

Hospital Environment:

• Located on the south side of Indianapolis in Greenwood
• 24/7 internal medicine hospitalist coverage
• Emergency Department staffed by board-certified EM physicians

Requirements:

• Clean NPDB report
• No outstanding medical malpractice
• Board Certification in Gastroenterology
• Indiana medical license (or ability to obtain)
