St. Anthony Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center in Lakewood, Colorado, is seeking Board-Certified Gastroenterologists to provide locum coverage for the 2025 holiday season with ongoing dates beginning April 2026. Candidates must be available for the holiday coverage dates in December to be considered for the ongoing need.
Position Highlights:
- Location: St. Anthony Hospital – Lakewood, CO (with coverage also at OrthoColorado Hospital)
- Schedule:
- Holiday coverage: December 23, 2025 – January 1, 2026
- Ongoing: 5–7 days/month beginning April 2026 and continuing into Winter 2026
- 24-hour call, Monday–Sunday (shifts end at 7:00 a.m. the following day)
- Setting: Inpatient only
- Patient Population: Adult, Geriatric, Adolescent (pediatric trauma only if 15+ years old and ≥50 kg)
- Trauma Level: Level I Trauma Center with 24/7 Intensivist & Hospitalist coverage
Job Responsibilities
• General GI consults – no admissions (consult-only service)
• Scoping, ERCP, EUS (highly preferred), Endoscopy, GI Bleed interventions, and evaluation of GI problems
• 8–10 new consults plus follow-ups per day
• 5–8 scopes/day
• EMR: EPIC
• Support Staff: None
Credentialing:
• Standard: 60–90 days
• Emergency Privileges: 1–2 weeks with a clean file
• Credentialing includes OrthoColorado Hospital
Qualifications
• Board Certification in Gastroenterology – Required
• Active CO License or IMLC with LOQ at time of submission – Required
• Active DEA (must remain active for the entire assignment, not just for worked shifts) – Required
• Must be available for holiday coverage to qualify for ongoing dates – Required
• Must be able to perform ERCP & EUS – Required
