A hospital-based GI locum opportunity is available starting January 2026. This is a 100% inpatient role—no outpatient clinic—focused on consults, rounding, and procedures, including ERCP.
Highlights:
- Flexible week-on/week-off model
- Volume: ~10 inpatient rounds/day + procedures as needed
- Procedures: EGDs, colonoscopies, ERCP
- 24-hour call (one provider on-site at a time)
- GI-trained endoscopy nurses on-site
- EMR: Paragon (Epic coming late 2026)
- Conscious sedation preferred (anesthesia available)
- Must commit to 2+ weeks/month

Job Responsibilities
- Perform endoscopic procedures including ERCP
- Round on admitted GI patients
- Participate in 24-hour call rotation
Qualifications
- Active Texas medical license
- ERCP proficiency required
- ACLS certification preferred
Working Hours
- Flexible scheduling: Week-on/week-off or two-week stretches
- Preferred availability: At least 2 weeks per month
Skills
- Ability to manage GI emergencies (GI bleed, SBO, etc.)
- Comfort with consult-based workflow
