Job description
We are seeking a board-certified Gastroenterologist with an active Illinois license for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity. The role includes 4 days in the GI lab performing procedures, 1 day in clinic, and inpatient rounding as needed. This is an adult-only practice; pediatric care is not required.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine colonoscopies, EGDs, and treatment of GI bleeds (including esophageal bleeders)

Provide inpatient consults for stable GI issues

Participate in clinic (20–30 patients/day) and GI lab procedures (10–14 cases/day)

Round on inpatients daily, volume is light due to facility size

Cover in-house weeknight call during scheduled assignments (approx. 4 admissions per night)
Requirements:

Board Certification in Gastroenterology

Active Illinois medical license required

Must be able to perform:
-
Colonoscopies
-
EGDs
-
Treatment of GI bleeds
-
Scopes for bleeds and esophageal varices

Comfortable with full-spectrum GI including routine inpatient consults

Minimum 2 weeks/month availability required; full-time also accepted

Must be able to start after 60-day credentialing process

EPIC EMR experience preferred
