Job Overview:

The Behavioral Integration Associate is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating the behavioral medicine experience and contributing to the curriculum of all GME programs within the Department of Family Medicine (DFM) at Lehigh Valley Health Network. This person will oversee educational experiences related to behavioral medicine integration for residents and faculty. They will also engage in scholarly activity as it pertains to behavioral integration for the department. They will serve as a core faculty member of the Family Medicine Residency and report to the Director of Behavioral Science. The Behavioral Integration Associate will be employed for 20 hours per week in this role with an opportunity to work additional hours by providing counseling services to patients in a Lehigh Valley Physician Group clinical practice.

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified
  • Valid current psychology license, counseling, social worker, or medical license for Pennsylvania.
  • Experience in clinical counseling and /or supervision and enthusiasm for teaching medical learners.
  • Experience in GME teaching.
  • Experience in scholarly work, including research methodology and publications.
  • Doctoral level psychologist, counselor, social worker, or public health specialist (PhD, PsyD), or MD with Residency in family medicine and family therapy training, or Masters with experience in FM education in behavioral counseling.
  • Experience working with patients with trauma, family systems, and/or addiction is preferred.
  • Training in behavioral health counseling.
  • Additional experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: trauma, family systems, and/or addiction counseling is preferred.
