Family Medicine Physician

This physician leadership role combines direct patient care with oversight of clinical operations, provider performance, and quality initiatives.

Position Overview

The Medical Director partners with operational and clinical leadership to support high standards of care, regulatory compliance, provider development, and practice performance. This role includes both leadership responsibilities and a continued clinical presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for physicians and advanced practice providers.
• Support quality improvement efforts, clinical outcomes, and patient care initiatives.
• Participate in provider mentoring, performance reviews, and professional development activities.
• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing, behavioral health, care management, and operations.
• Ensure adherence to organizational policies, accreditation standards, and best clinical practices.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on practice growth, patient access, and operational effectiveness.
• Serve as a clinical resource to providers and staff.
• Contribute to strategic planning and organizational initiatives.

Schedule

• Clinical care: 15 hours weekly
• Administrative time: 22.5 hours weekly

Performance Expectations

• Maintain strong quality and patient outcome metrics.
• Support access and continuity of care goals.
• Meet established patient volume and productivity standards.
• Promote evidence-based clinical practice and provider engagement.

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certification in Family Medicine
• Active New York State medical license
• Current DEA registration
• Current BLS certification
• Prior physician leadership experience preferred; strong clinicians with emerging leadership backgrounds will also be considered
