Physician - Family Medicine Hospitalist Coverage Family Medicine / Adult, Pediatric, and Newborn Nursery Care

Job Details:

Family Medicine hospitalist coverage providing care for adult, pediatric, and newborn nursery patients
Shift times: 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM
Approximately 8 to 10 shifts per month
Duration: Approximately 12 weeks
Board-certified or board-eligible Family Medicine physician required, within three years of completing residency
Must be comfortable treating both adult and pediatric patients
Experience providing newborn nursery care required
Current NRP certification and ability to perform newborn resuscitation required
Active North Carolina medical license required
Census of approximately 30 to 35 patients, shared with another provider
Must respond to hospital codes
Required skills include ventilator management, intubations, and EKG interpretation
Preferred skills include central line placement, arterial line placement, elective cardioversion, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, thoracentesis, minor laceration suturing, and incision and drainage (I&D)
Consulting specialists available in cardiology, nephrology, and oncology
EMR: Meditech
Open ICU with one physician responsible for rounding and admissions overnight
Hospital-owned apartments provided for provider lodging
Required certifications: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS
