Urgent, Locum Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to provide high-quality outpatient care in Winter Haven, Florida. This 6-9-month contract bridges a coverage gap during permanent recruitment, ensuring continuity of care for an established patient panel. Operating under a cutting-edge value-based care model, you will work alongside a robust multidisciplinary team. Documentation is streamlined through Athenahealth, enhanced by the Athena Ambient AI scribe to optimize your administrative workflow.
Job Responsibilities
• Value-Based Care: Focus on clinical quality, care coordination, and positive patient outcomes for a diverse mix of commercial and government-insured patients.
• Clinic Workflow: Accommodate scheduled, same-day afternoon appointments to reduce unnecessary emergency department utilization.
• Collaboration: Partner closely with an integrated team of care managers, pharmacists, social workers, hospitalists, and specialists.
• Supervision: Act as a collaborative supervisor for an established Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
• Documentation: Complete and close patient charts promptly, ideally within a 24-hour window.
Qualifications
• Licensure: Active, unrestricted Florida medical license (strongly preferred due to urgent start date).
• Certification: Board Certified (BC) is strongly preferred, but Board Eligible (BE) candidates will be considered. Active DEA registration required.
Working Hours
• Shift Details: Weekday business hours with scheduling flexibility; exact daily hours are TBD.
• Schedule: 1-2 weeks/month beginning late Nov/early Dec
• On-Call: Call rotation is required; exact frequency and schedule details are TBD.
