Family Medicine Physician Position in Oregon

Opportunity Overview

• Full-time Family Medicine physician needed for a gap in coverage
• 1.0 FTE
• 12-month assignment
• Clinic and hospital privileges
• Inpatient and outpatient setting
• 21-bed facility
• Newborn to geriatric patient population
• Approximately 20 clinic patients per day
• Physician may work independently
• Pediatric inpatient census is generally none

Schedule & Coverage

• 8-hour shifts
• Monday-Friday clinic coverage
• Call schedule pending, anticipated approximately 1 week per month, including weekends
• Call includes newborn/post-delivery coverage
• Approximately 3-7 newborns per month
• 4 hours of gratis included with 24-hour weekend call
• Obstetric care is performed by OB/GYN physicians; Family Medicine physician provides care to the newborn only

Clinical Details

• Comprehensive Family Medicine primary care
• Newborn through geriatric care
• Clinic and inpatient rounding/admissions
• Newborn assessment immediately after delivery when on call
• No obstetric medical or surgical care for pregnant patients
• No routine pediatric inpatient admissions
• Pediatric patients under age 8 are generally transferred to a higher-level facility; pediatric admissions are typically managed by surgeons
• Newborn resuscitation support includes trained L&D nurses, Respiratory Therapy, and tele-neonatology support
• Closest neonatal transfer center is a Level III NICU
• EPIC experience required, with at least 1 year preferred/essential

Requirements

• MD/DO
• Family Medicine
• Active Oregon medical license required at presentation
• Candidates without an active Oregon license will not be considered; pending licenses may be considered depending on expected issuance date
• BLS required
• NRP required
• Minimum recent Family Medicine clinical activity required within the previous 24 months
• Training log required for physicians who completed Family Medicine training within the previous year
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC experience required
• Circumcision is no longer required
• Pediatric call requirement is no longer required as of August 31, 2026
