Family Medicine Physician Position in Alaska

Opportunity Overview

• Family Medicine physician needed for a gap in coverage

• Outpatient setting with clinic and hospital privileges

• 1.0 FTE

• Expected assignment through May 6, 2027

• All-age patient population

• Average daily volume: 16-18 patients

• Physician will work independently

• Inpatient experience is not required

Schedule & Coverage

• Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

• No call requirement

• No rounding or admissions required

• Start date: ASAP, ideally November 23, 2026

• Physician may have the opportunity to provide occasional PTO coverage at a nearby island facility, approximately one week per month, if willing

Clinical Details

• Provide comprehensive Family Medicine care for patients of all ages

• Clinic and hospital privileges

• No required procedures

• Preferred procedures include:

  • Skin excisions and punch biopsies

  • Nexplanon and IUD procedures

  • Cryotherapy

  • Toenail evulsions

• Applicant must demonstrate involvement as an admitting physician for at least 20 patients during the previous 24 months

• Seeking physicians with 5+ years of experience due to the acuity of the patient population

• EMR: EPIC

Requirements

• MD

• BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

• Alaska medical license highly preferred, particularly for the anticipated December 2026 start

• Candidates without an Alaska license may be considered if willing to obtain one

• 5+ years of Family Medicine experience preferred

• Must meet the required recent clinical activity/case log requirements
