Position Details
- Role: Family and General Practitioner (Medical Specialist 2)
- Facility: Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Center, 2834 Rte 17M, New Hampton, NY 10958
- Rate: $157/hour
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (30-minute lunch break)
- Duration: 1 year, with a possible extension
- Start Date: About 4 to 6 weeks from selection
- Overtime, Holiday Work and Travel: Not required
- Parking: Free parking provided
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct physical examinations, and order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Diagnose and treat medical conditions in individuals with mental illness
- Prescribe medications, therapies, vaccinations and other specialized care, and adjust treatment as needed
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to meet treatment goals
- Maintain medical documentation in line with agency, State and Federal requirements
- Take part in discharge planning with other providers and disciplines
Requirements
- MD
- Active license to practice medicine in New York State
- Board certification from a Member Board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
- Internal medicine background preferred
- Background check completed by the facility
