• Full-time, regular position for a Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) serving a small community in Seward, Alaska
• Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients across the lifespan, from newborns through older adults
• Candidates with experience in rural family medicine, pediatrics, and women's health are encouraged to apply
• Practice includes preventive care, chronic disease management, acute care, urgent/walk-in care, and basic office procedures
• Salary range of $230,000–$275,000 annually
• $20,000 hiring bonus

Job Responsibilities
• Conduct physical examinations, sports physicals, preventive medicine, and wellness visits
• Provide urgent and walk-in medical care and participate in emergency care when required
• Perform basic primary care procedures, including casting and suturing
• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests
• Develop individualized treatment plans and arrange appropriate follow-up care
• Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, preventive care, and health maintenance
• Consult with and refer patients to specialists when appropriate
• Collaborate with physicians providing specialty clinics and other healthcare professionals
• Maintain appropriate collaborative agreements with Physician Assistant clinicians
• Participate in community outreach and health education activities
• Participate in provider and staff meetings
• Work with care coordination staff to manage patients with chronic and complex medical conditions
• Exercise prescriptive authority in accordance with Alaska statutes
• Accurately document patient encounters and clinical information in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
• Obtain informed consent for applicable procedures and treatments
• Maintain current clinical knowledge through continuing education, conferences, workshops, and professional literature
• Complete medical records and patient and staff communications in a timely manner
• Ensure timely notification and follow-up of laboratory and imaging results
• Perform other related clinical and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or an applicable primary care specialty
• Minimum of five years of physician experience, preferably in primary care
• Current Alaska physician license or eligibility to obtain an Alaska medical license by the start date
• Ability to obtain and maintain all certifications, training, and credentials required for clinical practice
• Experience in rural or community-based medicine is preferred
• Experience caring for pediatric and adult patients is preferred
• Experience in women's health is an advantage
• Ability to provide broad-spectrum primary care services in a small-community setting
Working Hours
• Specific clinic schedule to be determined by the employer
• May include urgent or walk-in care responsibilities
• May involve occasional emergency-care responsibilities based on community and clinical needs
• Participation in provider and staff meetings may be required
