Family Medicine Physician Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,970-$8,250
• Location: Northern Michigan, near Petoskey
• Assignment Type: 13-week locum tenens physician opportunity
• Anticipated Start Date: October 12, 2026
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
• Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
• Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week
• Patient Volume: Approximately 20 patients per day
• Call: None
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner
• Clinical Support: One medical assistant and one patient access representative per provider

Family Medicine Physician Requirements

• Board certification in Family Medicine is required
• Active Michigan physician license at the time of presentation
• At least 1 year of Family Medicine experience
• Experience caring for patients from newborn through geriatric age groups
• Comfort providing adult and pediatric outpatient primary care
• Experience with gynecologic examinations, including pelvic exams and Pap smears
• Ability to interpret EKGs
• Michigan-based candidates are preferred

Family Medicine Physician Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care to patients across the lifespan
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
• Deliver adult and pediatric general outpatient services
• Perform routine gynecologic care, including pelvic examinations and Pap smears
• Interpret EKGs and coordinate appropriate follow-up care
• Collaborate with medical assistants and patient access staff to support efficient clinic operations
• Document patient encounters accurately in the Cerner electronic health record
