A well-established 12-bed Critical Access Hospital serving more than 2,600 residents in rural South Dakota is seeking a Family Medicine Physician to join its close-knit medical team.
Founded in 1917, the medical center provides comprehensive healthcare close to home, including emergency services, ambulance coverage, diagnostic laboratory and imaging, outpatient care, and acute inpatient services.

Job Responsibilities
Outpatient Family Medicine
Provide comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages
Perform new-patient evaluations, physicals, wellness visits, and follow-ups
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
Provide preventive care, screenings, counseling, and health education
Coordinate referrals and specialty care
Develop long-term relationships with patients and families
Inpatient & Hospital Care
Admit and manage hospitalized patients
Conduct daily rounds
Manage acute medical conditions
Coordinate care with nursing, specialists, and ancillary services
Provide discharge planning and appropriate follow-up
Maintain continuity between inpatient and outpatient care
Emergency & On-Call Coverage
Support the medical center's emergency services
Participate in the physician on-call rotation
Evaluate and manage acute patient needs
Collaborate with emergency, nursing, ambulance, and clinical teams
Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
Current or eligible South Dakota medical license
Current or eligible DEA registration
Strong clinical skills in preventive, acute, and chronic care
Ability and willingness to provide both inpatient and outpatient care
Willingness to participate in the on-call rotation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Experience
Rural or community-based practice experience
Critical Access Hospital experience
Prior inpatient and outpatient Family Medicine experience
Comfort practicing with broad clinical responsibility and autonomy
