Job description
Position Summary: Tribal Health is seeking experienced Family Medicine Physicians to provide outpatient care at Oyate Health Center in Rapid City, South Dakota. Physicians will practice in the Same Day Clinic, providing primary and acute care to patients of all ages. The position combines same-day access, acute illness, minor injury treatment, chronic disease management, preventive care, and follow-up services in a well-supported outpatient environment.

Job Responsibilities
· Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages
· Provide same-day care for acute illnesses and minor injuries
· Provide preventive and routine primary care
· Manage common chronic medical conditions
· Perform appropriate histories and physical examinations
· Order and interpret diagnostic testing
· Develop and implement treatment plans
· Prescribe medications as clinically appropriate
· Provide follow-up care and patient education
· Perform minor procedures, including suturing and splinting
· Recognize higher-acuity presentations and coordinate escalation of care when appropriate
· Collaborate with nursing, case management, ancillary services, and other healthcare professionals
For patients requiring a higher level of emergency care, EMS rapid response is available, with Monument Health's Emergency Department approximately eight minutes away.
Qualifications
· Active South Dakota medical license or willingness/ability to obtain
· Active DEA registration
· Current BLS
· Current ACLS
· Must meet applicable COVID-19 compliance requirements
· Comfortable treating patients across the lifespan
· Comfortable managing acute and chronic conditions
· Comfortable performing minor procedures, including suturing and splinting
· Ability to work evenings, weekends, and/or rotating schedules
Working Hours
· Clinic hours: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
· Preferred shift: 11:00 AM–7:30 PM
· Weekend rotation required
· Rotating schedules may be available
· Client is also open to 3 x 12-hour shifts per week with a weekend rotation
· Two Same Day Clinic provider positions
Skills
· Has broad Family Medicine experience
· Is comfortable treating pediatric through geriatric patients
· Enjoys a same-day/acute-care environment
· Is comfortable seeing approximately 18–25 patients per day
· Can independently manage common acute illnesses and minor injuries
· Is comfortable with suturing and splinting
· Has strong chronic disease and preventive care skills
· Recognizes when patients require escalation to a higher level of care
· Works effectively with nursing, case management, and ancillary services
· Is comfortable with evening and weekend scheduling
· Values providing culturally responsive care to Native American and underserved communities
