Family Medicine Physician – Locum Tenens - Canonsburg, PA 📅 ASAP – December 31, 2026 - (DM)

• Full-time Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician opportunity
• Coverage needed through the end of 2026, with potential extension into 2027
• Monday–Friday schedule with no call
• Mix of inpatient and outpatient medical care
• Supportive clinical environment with nursing staff, APPs, physicians, and a medical director
• TechCare EMR
• Average infirmary census of approximately 14–24 patients
• Patient population of approximately 1,800
• No prior correctional medicine experience required
• Strong opportunity for physicians seeking consistent, full-time locum coverage

Schedule

• Monday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
• Tuesday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• No call responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

Physicians will provide comprehensive primary care, including:

• Evaluation and management of acute and chronic conditions
• Infirmary patient care and acute medical issues
• Patient histories, physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment planning
• Medication management, prescription refills, referrals, and ancillary testing
• Supervision and clinical guidance of APPs and support staff
• Basic procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision & drainage
• Documentation and care coordination through the EMR

Requirements

• MD/DO with Family Medicine or Internal Medicine training
• Board Certified or Board Eligible
• Active Pennsylvania medical license required
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Full-time availability with a minimum commitment of 26 weeks
• Correctional medicine experience not required
• Credentialing typically takes 60–90 days
