Job description
We are seeking a Family Medicine physician for a locum tenens position in Melrose, Minnesota. This is a hospital-based opportunity centered on weekend inpatient and on-call coverage, with flexibility to add outpatient clinic days. Please see below for more information.
- Critical access hospital in a rural setting
- Level IV adult trauma designation
- Epic EMR
Job Responsibilities
Perform morning rounding on the inpatient service
Admit pediatric patients
Provide emergency department support
Perform adult admissions while serving as the on-call physician during weekday daytime hours
Practice independently across the full scope of family medicine in both inpatient and outpatient settings
For providers electing clinic days, manage an outpatient schedule averaging 13-15 visits per day
Qualifications
Active Minnesota medical license
BLS
ACLS
PALS
ATLS
Working Hours
Scheduled coverage plus on-call required
Primary focus is weekend coverage - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - which is predominantly on call
Consecutive weekend blocks can be accommodated for providers seeking additional coverage
Optional weekday clinic days available for providers wanting a fuller schedule
Back-up call requires a response time within 30 minutes of the hospital; on-site presence is required when assigned to the emergency department
