Job description
A clinical research organization is seeking a full-time Family Medicine Physician / Clinical Research Physician / Principal Investigator to support the launch of a new clinical research site in the Riverside or Coachella Valley area of California.
The site will focus on steatotic liver disease, including MASH/MASLD, and cardiometabolic research. The physician will serve as Principal Investigator and provide clinical oversight for research studies conducted at the site.
This is a De Novo site launch. Broader operational support is already in place, onsite staff will be hired, and a patient database is currently being developed.
Candidates may already hold an active California medical license or be eligible and willing to obtain one. Relocation assistance is available.
Additional compensation includes an annual site performance incentive of up to 20% of base salary, an additional annual escalator incentive, and a relocation package.
Job Responsibilities
Assume responsibilities and obligations as an Investigator pursuant to applicable FDA requirements and Form FDA 1572
Personally conduct or supervise clinical research activities
Adhere to study protocols, FDA regulations, Good Clinical Practice, and applicable site procedures
Protect the rights, safety, and welfare of research participants
Maintain sponsor and clinical trial confidentiality
Perform study-related procedures including physical examinations, informed consent, subject history, adverse event assessment, records review, treatment coordination, vital signs, and subject health assessments
Review and adjudicate laboratory, imaging, and biopsy findings
Assist with preparation for study monitoring visits
Perform subject screening and recruitment
Oversee Sub-Investigators and the recruitment team
Provide weekend coverage for study visits when required by protocol
Provide after-hours phone coverage as needed
Qualifications
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine
Minimum 1 year of Principal Investigator experience
Active California medical license, or eligible and willing to obtain California licensure
Medical license history must be free of disciplinary or adverse board action, including closed or resolved matters
Background relevant to steatotic liver disease, MASH/MASLD, obesity, metabolic disease, and/or cardiometabolic disease
Available for a full-time, onsite position in the Riverside or Coachella Valley area
Open to relocation if not currently local
