A mission-driven community health organization in Austin, Texas, is seeking a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to join its established adult primary care team.

This full-time outpatient opportunity offers a salary of $220,000–$240,000, flexible scheduling, no weekend clinic and the potential for a four-day workweek. The physician will practice within an integrated care model supported by two Medical Assistants per provider, bilingual clinical staff and on-site resources designed to address patients’ medical, behavioral and social needs.

Physicians completing residency in 2027 may be considered, although candidates who are available to begin sooner will receive priority.

Position Highlights

  • Base salary of $220,000–$240,000
  • No RVU-based compensation
  • Full-time, 40-hour workweek
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Four 10-hour days may be considered
  • No weekend clinic
  • Shared call of approximately one week every three months
  • Up to $10,000 in relocation assistance for eligible candidates
  • Typical $7,500 sign-on bonus for candidates who are not relocating
  • Professional malpractice insurance provided
  • Two Medical Assistants assigned to each provider
  • Strong bilingual Medical Assistant support
  • Translation services available
  • Spanish fluency is not required
  • Visa candidates may be considered
  • Collaborative integrated-care environment
  • Potential consideration for 2027 graduates

Practice Structure

The physician will report to the Adult Medical Director and join a team of approximately nine Adult Medicine providers.

The weekly schedule includes patient-care and administrative clinic sessions. Flexible arrangements may be available, including a four-day schedule for the right candidate.

The provider team shares a call rotation of approximately one week every three months. There are no regularly scheduled weekend clinics.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care
  • Evaluate, diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Conduct physical examinations and preventive health screenings
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
  • Manage chronic diseases and medically complex patients
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies
  • Prescribe medications and monitor treatment outcomes
  • Educate patients regarding prevention, treatment and self-management
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and community resources
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with physicians, Medical Assistants, behavioral health professionals, nutrition staff and other care-team members
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning
  • Support continuity of care for underserved and vulnerable patients
  • Participate in the shared provider call rotation
  • Contribute to quality-improvement and population-health initiatives

Integrated Care Model

The organization provides coordinated services through close collaboration among:

  • Primary care
  • Behavioral health
  • Nutrition services
  • In-house legal services
  • Medical and community-support teams

This structure allows physicians to address the clinical, behavioral and social factors affecting patient health while receiving support from a broad interdisciplinary team.

Each physician is supported by two Medical Assistants. Bilingual Medical Assistants and translation services are available, so Spanish fluency is not required.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician who values relationship-based care and enjoys working within a collaborative community health environment.

Strong candidates will demonstrate:

  • Commitment to patient-centered primary care
  • Interest in serving underserved and medically complex populations
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
  • Comfort managing acute and chronic adult medical conditions
  • Interest in integrated medical, behavioral and supportive services
  • Ability to participate in a shared call rotation

Candidates available to begin sooner will receive priority, but physicians completing residency in 2027 may also be considered.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree
  • Training in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Ability to satisfy applicable licensing, credentialing and payer requirements
  • Strong clinical assessment and patient-management skills
  • Commitment to culturally responsive, patient-centered care
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers and support staff

The client should confirm the exact board-certification, state-license, DEA and certification requirements before publication.

Compensation and Incentives

The annual salary range is $220,000–$240,000.

The position does not include RVU requirements or RVU-based compensation.

Additional financial support may include:

  • Up to $10,000 in relocation assistance for candidates moving at least 75 miles
  • A typical $7,500 sign-on bonus for candidates who are not relocating
  • Professional malpractice insurance

Relocation and sign-on assistance are negotiated during compensation discussions. For relocating candidates, the approved package may include or replace a separate sign-on incentive.

Visa Candidates

Physicians requiring employment-based visa sponsorship may be considered.

The organization does not currently employ visa-sponsored providers, so sponsorship will require individual review and organizational approval. Availability will depend on the physician’s visa status, specialty, start date, immigration requirements and the organization’s ability to support the applicable process.

Interview Process

Qualified candidates can expect:

  1. A virtual interview with the Adult Medical Director and Chief Medical Officer
  2. A second interview that is preferably completed in person

A virtual second interview may be arranged for candidates currently located outside the Austin area.
