Permanent Family Medicine Residency Core Faculty (Geriatrics) Opportunity in Lewiston, ME
Position Overview:
Seeking a Board Certified Family Medicine physician to serve as Core Faculty within a Family Medicine Residency Program with a focus on Geriatrics. This role combines clinical care with teaching, mentorship, and program leadership in an academic setting aligned with ACGME standards.
Practice Details:
Full-time position
Blend of clinical care and academic responsibilities
Focus on geriatric and long-term care medicine
Active involvement in residency program development and education
Collaborative, multidisciplinary teaching environment
Core Faculty Responsibilities:
Supervise and teach Family Medicine residents in clinical settings
Lead didactic sessions, case conferences, and curriculum development
Serve as faculty advisor and mentor to residents
Participate in resident evaluations and Clinical Competency Committee
Engage in scholarly activity, research, and quality improvement initiatives
Support program evaluation and accreditation compliance
Contribute to residency leadership and faculty meetings
Clinical Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive care to geriatric and long-term care patients
Manage acute and chronic conditions
Perform routine assessments and preventive care
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
Maintain accurate EMR documentation
Requirements:
MD or DO degree
Board Certified in Family Medicine
Active or eligible for Maine medical license
2–3+ years of clinical experience preferred
Prior teaching or residency faculty experience preferred
Strong interest in graduate medical education
