Family Practice Physician
Full-Time | Rural Community Hospital | Nebraska
A well-established, fully staffed rural health system in Nebraska is seeking a Family Practice Physician to join a collegial team of four FP physicians due to a relocation. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who thrives in a position that offers a work/home life balance and enjoys practicing broad-spectrum family medicine in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Position Highlights

Schedule: Four (4) 10-hour shifts, Monday–Friday. Work day starts between 0700-0730 with hospital rounding.

Daily Structure:

Morning hospital rounding (average census 2–4 patients)

Clinic patients throughout the day
-
Return to hospital at end of day for applicable follow-up rounding

Clinic Volume:
-
Average 18 patients/day
-
Busy days 20–22 patients
-
Broad rural scope: pediatrics, geriatrics, acute care, wounds, chronic disease management

Hospital & Emergency Department
-
Average hospital census: 2–4 inpatients daily
-
ED averages 6–7 visits per day (primarily low to moderate acuity)
-
APPs cover ED as primary providers
-
Family Medicine physicians serve as backup call only
-
Rarely called in; typically phone consultation or support if needed
-
30-minute response time per bylaws
-
Ambulance service city-owned; helipad on-site
-
Preferred transfer facility approximately 65 miles away
-
No OB deliveries (prenatal patients seen in clinic; deliveries referred)
Call Schedule
-
Approximately 7 call shifts per month (currently being reduced)
-
1 weekday backup call during Tuesday–Friday shift
-
1 weekend backup call per month (Friday 5pm – Monday 7am)

APPs take primary call; FP physicians provide backup support
Requirements

MD/DO

ATLS & ACLS required

PALS preferred (not required)

Board Certified/Board Eligible preferred

Credentialing: 60–90 days (expedited if needed)

Compensation & Benefits
Tier 1 Starting Compensation:

$250,000-$285,000 base + productivity
-
High-producing physicians have earning potential up to $500,000
Additional compensation tiers available upon discussion.
