Primary Care Women’s Health – Medical Director
POSITION DESCRIPTION

- Mount Zion Campus, San Francisco Adult Outpatient; Monday–Friday Schedule
- Leadership role overseeing a thriving Women’s Health Primary Care practice
- Direct supervision of 12 physicians within an 18-provider team (MDs & NPs)
- Adult primary care with a women’s health focus — no obstetrics
- Significant protected time for leadership, academic work, teaching, and quality initiatives
- Dedicated administrative time aligned with clinical sessions (QI projects, innovation, program development)
- Collegial, on-site team with strong morale and long-tenured support staff
- Collaborative environment alongside Family & Internal Medicine physicians passionate about women’s health
- Monday–Friday schedule only — no weekends
- Office closed for 14 holidays annually
- Opportunities to teach medical students and residents (optional)

CLINICAL / ADMINISTRATIVE
- Expected distribution of professional effort includes:
- Clinical Care: Minimum 50% (4 clinical sessions/week)
- Medical Director duties: 25%
- Opportunities for Faculty Physicians to have 10-20% protected time for teaching or creative scholarly activities.

What We’re Looking For
- Board-certified or board-eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician with comprehensive outpatient care experience
- Ability to manage adult patients
- Strong commitment to patient-centered care, with interest in quality improvement and collaborative practice
- Openness to academic engagement, including teaching or scholarly activities when opportunities arise

Requirements:
California-licensed physician (MD or DO) by start date with board certification or eligibility, and willingness to become board certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
Prior leadership experience such as Associate Medical Director, Site Director, residency leadership, or other administrative, educational, or research leadership roles
