Job description The East Portland/Fairview, Oregon Veterans Administration Community-Based Outpatient Clinic is seeking a full-time Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Family Practice or Internal Medicine Physician for our out-patient clinic in Fairview, Oregon. This position is part of the Portland VA Medical Center, which provides services through an integrated network of care facilities and a distributed system of outpatient clinics and hospitals throughout Oregon. As a primary care provider, you will operate as a highly skilled, independent care provider in patient management and be a part of an interdisciplinary care team with access to state-of-the-art medicine and advanced medical technologies.

Job Responsibilities

Candidates must be board certified in Family Practice or Internal Medicine and demonstrate leadership and administrative capabilities. Strong motivation in promoting staff education and development programs, along with a commitment to professional enrichment, merit promotion, equal employment opportunity, and positive labor relations, is essential.

The Health Care Clinic operates under the PACT Model (Patient Aligned Care Team). Along with your team, consisting of a PCP, RN, LPN, and a Medical Support Assistant, you will care for a panel of approximately 900 patients. The PACT team provides comprehensive care for our Veteran population, including diagnoses, care, and treatment of both acute and chronic conditions. Common conditions include diabetes, hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, degenerative arthritis, depression, congestive heart failure, and chronic pain. The position is Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must be strongly motivated to promote continuing education for staff, inter-professional training, and demonstrate a commitment to professional enrichment, merit promotion, equal employment opportunity, and positive labor relations. An OHSU academic appointment may be commensurate with experience.

Working Hours

Work Schedule:

Full-time, Monday-Friday (minimal call for abnormal labs)
Requirements:

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.
Board Certification in Family Practice or Internal Medicine
