Overview
Under the direction of the Medical Director, this role provides comprehensive and continuous primary care to a panel of patients.
Job Responsibilities
Provide primary care services to individuals and families.
Work within a collaborative model alongside nurse practitioners and clinical psychologists.
Manage direct patient care including exams, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatments.
Prescribe medications and treatment regimens as appropriate.
Refer patients to specialists and additional care components as needed.
Direct and coordinate patient care activities of nursing and support staff.
Follow established policies, procedures, quality improvement objectives, and safety standards.
Participate in health promotion, education, and prevention programs when applicable.
Observe, assess, and document symptoms, reactions, and patient progress.
Participate in on-call coverage.
Prescribe drug dosages and instruct patients on usage and supportive care.
Maintain quality, safety, and infection-control standards.
Develop and present educational programs or workshops.
Train and advise subordinate clinical professionals and/or students.
Contribute to a team-based patient care environment involving both clinical and non-clinical staff.
Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Medical Degree (MD or DO)
Board certification/eligibility in Family Medicine
Current state medical licensure
ACLS or CPR/AED certification
Current DEA, DEA-X, and controlled substance licensure for prescriptive authority
Eligible for unrestricted health center and hospital privileges
Effective verbal and written communication skills
