This facility is part of a government contractor helping our nation's Veterans by providing comprehensive evaluation services. They specialize in Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for veterans across the country.
Opportunity:
General Medicine Provider
Job Details:
• Perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for veterans • Available locations include provider's own office, Ithaca, NY (1 day per week needed), and Trumansburg, NY (3 days per week needed) • PRN basis, ongoing need • Option to work half days (4-hours) and/or full days (8-hours) • One-time non-treatment CP exams and separation health assessments • Exams are primarily interview-based with some physical assessment: range of motion testing, muscle strength testing • No prescribing or treatment involved • Must be proficient in METs testing, evaluating and diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions • Acceptable specialties include family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or anyone with background in general medicine or experience with compensation and pension • Must own a laptop (no Mac/Apple products) • Must have active and unrestricted full license • Must be willing to complete DMA training to become DMA certified • Quick credentialing and onboarding process • Follow-up administrative work required on a regular basis (addendums, medical opinions, and reading diagnostics) • Local candidates only, travel included in rates • Not available to providers who are active military duty, in the reserves, or actively employed at the VA
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
• Half-day Rate: $800 flat rate for 4 hour shifts or less (includes time to complete exams, submit reports, including any addendums) • Daily Rate: $1600 flat rate for 5 hour shifts or longer (includes time to complete exams, submit reports, including any addendums) • One-time bonus of $650 for completing all required training and performing first exams
