Clinical Role:
Seeking a board certified or truly board eligible Family Medicine Physician or Pediatrician
Service Area: Villages within a 100-mile radius of a well-established FQHC
Facility: Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
Position Type: Full-Time, with Medical Director Opportunity
Overview
Join a mission-driven team providing comprehensive primary care to underserved populations in the breathtaking and remote Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. This is not your typical clinic job-this is Alaskan adventure medicine at its finest. You’ll deliver care both in their town-based FQHC and by traveling to remote villages accessible only by bush plane, snow machine, or boat. This is an opportunity to make a profound impact in communities where your skills are truly needed-and to experience the adventure of a lifetime.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, culturally competent primary care to patients in both clinic and rural village settings.
Conduct regular outreach visits to remote villages, traveling by bush plane, snow machine, and boat.
Provide acute, chronic, and preventive care for a diverse patient population, including Alaska Native communities.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, and behavioral health professionals.
Participate in community health initiatives and patient education.
Ensure continuity of care through effective follow-up and coordination with specialists and hospitals as needed.
Opportunity to assume a leadership role as Medical Director, guiding clinical quality and program development for the organization
Qualifications
MD or DO degree with completion of residency in Family Medicine
Board-certified or board-eligible.
Eligible for Alaska medical license.
Experience or strong interest in rural, community, or adventure medicine.
Ability to work independently and adapt to challenging, resource-limited environments.
Commitment to serving underserved and culturally diverse populations.
Prior experience with Alaska Native or American Indian communities is highly valued
