A unique opportunity in Connecticut for an academic family medicine physician to lead a new Family Medicine Residency program that offers both inpatient and outpatient care.


About the position:

  • Lead the planning and startup of the Family Medicine Residency program
  • 4 Residents per year starting in July 2025
  • 50% Administrative and 50% Clinical
  • Inpatient and outpatient setting
  • Responsible for the leadership, organization, operation, and general administration of the Program
  • Establish the strategic direction of the program
  • Responsible for the standards, quality, and reputation of the program
  • Develop a program budget and oversee budget execution under the supervision of the DIO
  • Participate in competency evaluations of residents and faculty
  • Recruit and select candidates for the residency program
  • Maintain active clinical practice, typically in Family Medicine
  • Develop curriculum, policies, and procedures in accordance with ACGME standards

Who we are seeking:

  • MD or DO with CT State License, Federal DEA, and State Controlled Substance Registration
  • CT Medical License or the ability to obtain one
  • 3+ years? experience in the medical education of Residents
  • Board Certification in Family Medicine
