Location: Abbott Park, IL
Compensation: $115/hour with weekly pay and malpractice included
Opportunity: Locums part-time position
* Start Date: 3/11/2024 - ongoing
*This is a Clinical Veterinarian part time position.
*10/15hrs. weekly
* The primary role of the Clinical Veterinarian is to provide clinical veterinary support to Abbott’s animal care and use program by working under the direction of the Attending Veterinarian.
Preferred qualifications:
- Expertise in laboratory animal medicine;
- Expertise in small ruminants;
- Knowledge of USDA Animal Welfare Regulations and AAALAC International standards;
- Familiarity with GLP and GMP regulations;
- American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ACLAM) board certified;
- USDA accredited or obtain within 3 years of hire.
Requirements:
§ A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from AVMA accredited or equivalent institution and eligible to be licensed in the State of Illinois;§ 2-3 years clinical experience in lab animals and/or small ruminants;
§ Practical understanding of local, state, and federal policies regulating the use of animals in research.
