Urgent: Family Medicine Physician needed in Northern Alaska-Any State License Accepted

*Location: Northern Alaska, within the Arctic Circle Ring
*Setting: Very small community health center/hospital
*Start Date: ASAP (as soon as credentialed)
*End Date: Ongoing
*Schedule: This is a full time placement, with a minimum commitment of one month. The client would like a schedule of one month on, one month off, or similar.
*Requirements: BC in Family Medicine, Unrestricted DEA, **ANY clean STATE LICENSE** (although AK license is preferred), Ability to use EMR system (Cerner), Clean NPDB (no current or unresolved suits), Able to treat SUD
*Skills: Candidate must be clinically capable, flexible, able to get on a plane and go to work in a remote area, then come back to do inpatient along with comfort in treating SUD.
*Commitment:
  • Must be comfortable practicing solo, with limited resources,
  • Must be committed to rural, tribal and underserved healthcare.
  • Must be compassionate, mission-driven social medicine practitioner.
*Additional Information:
  • This is not your typical locums work. This is hard work, not a vacation or opportunity to see the world. This is designed for providers who wish to make a long-standing commitment to these areas through 1 month on, 2 month off (or similar) schedules throughout the year.
  • Pets & family are not appropriate on these assignments.**

*All travel and lodging are provided

**While any clean state license will be accepted, the provider must understand that, when coming in with an out of state license, he/she will be considered a “Relief Provider”, an employee of the client, and NOT a W9/Independent Contractor. In this capacity, taxes will be withheld by the employer. In order to work as an independent contractor, you MUST have an AK license.**
