Clinical Scope:

The physician will provide comprehensive Family Medicine/Primary Care services for patients ranging from newborns to geriatric patients.

The role includes both clinic and hospital responsibilities, including:

• Outpatient primary care
• Inpatient rounding and admissions
• Newborn assessments following delivery
• Pediatric support when needed
• Family Medicine services across a broad patient population
• Working independently/solo when required

Important: The physician will provide care for the newborn only, not the mother. There is no obstetric-focused medical or surgical care before, during, or after pregnancy.

Newborn & Pediatric Responsibilities:

• Approximately 3–7 newborns per month
• Newborn assessment following hospital delivery
• Newborn resuscitation support is available through trained L&D nurses and Respiratory Therapy
• Neonatology telemedicine support is available from a Level III NICU
• Pediatric inpatient census is currently minimal/none
• Pediatric patients requiring higher-level care may be transferred to appropriate tertiary facilities

Pediatric call requirements have been reduced, with pediatric call no longer required as of August 31, 2026.

Call Details:

Call is required and is expected to be shared among providers.

• Weeknight call may be required
• Weekend call may be required
• Expected call coverage: approximately 1 week per month
• Weekend 24-hour call compensation available
• 4 hours of weekend call are provided at no charge
• Night call compensation also available

Procedures:

No specific procedure is currently required.

Circumcision is no longer required as of August 31, 2026.

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Family Medicine / Primary Care
• Active Oregon medical license required at the time of presentation
• Facility is not willing to license candidates
• Candidates with a pending Oregon license may be considered depending on the expected issue date
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Current BLS certification
• Current NRP certification
• At least 1 year of Epic experience
• Documentation of Family Medicine clinical activity representative of the requested privileges within the previous 24 months
• Candidates who recently completed Family Medicine training may provide an applicable training log
• Must meet facility credentialing and privileging requirements

• Patient population: Newborns, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Physician may work independently
• OBGYN physicians perform deliveries
• CRNA available on call for deliveries
• Respiratory Therapy and trained L&D nursing staff provide newborn support
• Tele-neonatology support available
• Closest neonatal transfer center: Level III NICU at Sacred Heart Riverbend in Springfield, Oregon
