Job description
A well-established, community-owned, not-for-profit health system in North Alabama is seeking a Board-Certified Family Medicine physician with Obstetrics experience to serve in a combined clinical and Residency Program Director role. This is an opportunity to provide comprehensive Family Medicine and OB care while helping develop and lead a growing residency program.
Opportunity Highlights
- $300,000 base salary
- $25,000 sign-on bonus
- $15,000 relocation assistance
- Monday–Friday program schedule
- Potential extended hours as the residency develops
- Approximately 50% clinical / 50% Program Director and academic responsibilities once the program is established
- Approximately 20 patients per day during clinical time
- Cerner EMR
- Opportunity to help develop and shape the residency program
- Support from residents, residency faculty, program administration, hospital leadership, and GME
Clinical & Leadership Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive Family Medicine and obstetric care
- Maintain active hospital privileges
- Lead the development, administration, and long-term direction of the residency program
- Teach, mentor, and supervise residents in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Oversee curriculum development and resident evaluations
- Participate in resident recruitment and faculty development
- Maintain program quality
- Ensure compliance with ACGME, institutional, and applicable specialty board requirements
Candidate Qualifications
- Board-Certified in Family Medicine
- 5+ years of Family Medicine with OB experience
- 2+ years of Program Director experience preferred
- FPOB fellowship is a plus
- Strong interest in medical education, resident development, and program leadership
