Job Details

Primary Care Physician Location: Artesia, NM

Schedule: Mon/Wed (7:30 AM – 3:30 PM) | Tue/Thu (9:30 AM – 6:30 PM)

About the Role We are seeking a dedicated Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to lead on-site health and wellness services for a value-based primary care center. This position replaces high-volume, fee-for-service medicine with a direct primary care model focused on relationship-driven, whole-person care. You will manage a small, dedicated patient panel with low administrative burden and no volume-based quotas.

Key Differentiators

  • 30-Minute Average Visits: Ample time to conduct thorough physical exams, address complex conditions, and focus on preventive health and patient education.

  • No RVU or Volume Targets: Clinical metrics prioritize patient health outcomes, satisfaction, and engagement over daily patient throughput.

  • Reduced Administrative Friction: Minimal charting and billing overhead, allowing focus on broad-scope primary care practice.

  • Dedicated Care Team: Clinical leadership backed by an on-site Medical Assistant, Patient Advocate, and Clinical Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Patient Care: Provide episodic, preventive, and primary healthcare services tailored to patient needs.

  • Treatment Planning: Develop personalized, long-term health plans in collaboration with patients.

  • Clinical Evaluations: Perform comprehensive health-risk assessments, routine physicals, and medical history reviews.

  • Specialty Coordination: Refer patients to specialist care and external medical resources when required.

  • Clinical Leadership: Guide and support the health center's multidisciplinary team to maintain a collaborative environment.

  • Goal Alignment: Participate in setting annual health center objectives and maintaining high quality-of-care standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 1+ years of post-residency clinical practice experience.

  • Licensure: Current, unrestricted state medical license to practice in New Mexico.

  • Board Status: Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.

  • Certifications: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

  • Compliance & Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA regulations, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.
