South Dakota Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine Provider Needed on the River!
Trauma III
$145/hr, for 24 hour shifts, 5 - 7 day block schedule.
Schedule: Monday 7A - Monday 7A OR Monday 8A - Friday 5P
Number of candidates needed: 1 or have enough weeks for 2 Physicians
What is driving the need: MD retired and hospital is short staffed
Cases (required vs ideal): Low patient volumes- mostly adult patients. Typical ED cases in rural areas- minor accidents/ GI/ appys, OB, (average 100 births per year) clinic cases are typical cold, flu, well visits; heavy Native American population
Patient volume: 3-5 ED patients per day and up to 15 clinic patients in a 24hr period- Locum Provider would see overflow anything AFTER the 15 PPD.
ER volume of 3,600 per year
Patient age range: Adults/ Geriatric/Peds
Support staff: APP and support staff
Number of beds or ORs: 25 bed facility
EMR: Epic
Certifications required: BLS and ACLS and Must be boarded ABMS or AOA

Job Responsibilities
Rotate Call and Backup to APP's in the Emergency Department for 24 hour call shift. Help if Primary Care clinic has overflow of patients.
Qualifications
Can you wait for a license: Yes- IMLC
Credentialing timeline: 60 days
Credentialing requirements: DEA required
Working Hours
OR Monday 8A - Friday 5P with Overnight ED backup call.
Clinic hours 8A - 5P (back up for low volume clinic)
On call for ER, rotating as primary or back up to APP's.
