Family Medicine Physician - Locum Opportunity in Rural Alaska

We are seeking a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician for an ongoing locum opportunity in rural Southwest Alaska. This assignment offers the chance to provide meaningful outpatient care while experiencing a unique community and culture. Location: Rural Southwest Alaska

Date Range: September 2026 and ongoing

Assignments: Rotation dates are flexible – work around your personal life!

• 4-week rotation preferred
• Initial assignment includes a 1-week orientation

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday
• 8:00am – 5:00pm
• No Call
• No Weekends, No Holidays

Compensation:

• $180/hr
• $270/hr holiday rate (limited holidays apply)
• 2 paid travel days, paid 8 hrs at the regular hourly rate (1 arrival, 1 departure)

• Patient Volume: Averages 10-12 patients per day
• Full clinic staff support and collaborative team environment
  

Requirements:

• Active Physician (MD/DO) license with the State of Alaska
• Board Certified in Family Medicine
• Active BLS, ACLS, & PALS
• Active DEA registration
• Must be able and willing to see patients of all ages
• OB & Pediatric experience highly preferred, but not required
• Experience working in remote Alaska is highly preferred
