Job description
We are seeking a Family Practice Physician with OB experience for a locum tenens position in John Day, OR. This is an ongoing coverage opportunity at a critical access hospital serving all patient populations. Please see below for more information.
- Critical Access Hospital
- 25 beds
- Avg. Daily Census: 10–15
- Patient Age Group: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults
- 16–18 patients per day in clinic
- Other providers on site: MDs, DOs, NPs
- EMR: Cerner CommunityWorks
Job Responsibilities
Women's health and prenatal care
OB deliveries (Surgical OB preferred)
OB call coverage (1:3)
In-office procedures: IUD placement, Nexplanon, toenail removals, excisions/biopsies, colposcopies, casting/splinting, suturing, joint injections, pap smears
Qualifications
Active Oregon license required (or willing to license)
DEA required
BLS required
ACLS required
NRP required
OB Privileges: Demonstrated current competence and evidence of at least 10 deliveries in the past 24 months
C-Section Privileges: Demonstrated current competence and successful completion of 30 cesarean births
Working Hours
10-hour day shifts
4-day work week
Scheduled + On-Call required (OB Call 1:3)
Minimum 2 weeks per month
13-week assignment (potential to extend 6 months to 1 year)
Start Date: 8/17/2026
