32 Patient-Facing Hours | Professional Soccer Coverage
A well-established outpatient practice in the Kansas City metropolitan area is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Family Medicine Physician with Sports Medicine fellowship training. This unique opportunity combines traditional outpatient primary care with a dedicated Sports Medicine focus, including the opportunity to provide medical coverage for Sporting Kansas City Academy athletes. The position offers a flexible schedule, dedicated administrative time, strong clinical support, and an excellent balance between primary care and sports medicine.
Position Highlights
* Full-time, permanent Family Medicine / Sports Medicine opportunity
* 100% outpatient practice
* Combination of primary care and Sports Medicine
* 32 patient-facing hours per week
* One dedicated administrative day each week
* Shared primary care call rotation with home call only
* Collaborative, team-based practice environment
* Work closely with an APP to provide comprehensive patient care
* Strong support from experienced physicians, APPs, and specialty resources
* Fully integrated Epic EMR
* DAX Copilot AI technology available to streamline documentation and improve clinical efficiency
Sports Medicine Opportunities
* Provide Sports Medicine coverage for Sporting Kansas City (Sporting KC) Academy
* Participate in a shared coverage model with approximately 4–5 physicians
* Provide sideline coverage for home events during the Sporting KC Academy season
* Coverage assignments typically include 2–3 games on assigned days
* Historically, home game coverage has ranged from approximately 6–10 weekends
* Perform pre-participation physical examinations for Academy athletes
* Provide ongoing medical management for athletes during regular clinic hours
* Work directly with competitive athletes in a professional soccer organization
* Excellent opportunity to combine a traditional Family Medicine practice with meaningful team and event Sports Medicine coverage

Qualifications
* MD or DO
* Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
* Completion or current enrollment in an accredited Family Medicine residency
* Completed or currently completing a Sports Medicine Fellowship
* Current or eligible Missouri medical licensure
* Strong interest in both primary care and Sports Medicine
* Comfortable providing sideline and event coverage
* Excellent communication and collaborative skills
* Experienced physicians and graduating Sports Medicine fellows are encouraged to apply
