Job description An Endocrinologist position has become available about an hour from downtown Atlanta.

This is a permanent position – not locums.

Endocrinologist
Only Endocrinology team in the entire service area
Work out of only one facility
Call is 1 in 2 but very light and covers one facility
Average 7-8 Inpatient consults per month

Job Responsibilities

• Patient Care & Diagnosis: Examine, diagnose, and treat patients with hormonal imbalances and endocrine disorders. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, lab work, and imaging.
• Treatment Planning: Develop and adjust personalized, evidence-based treatment and medication plans (including insulin management and hormone replacement therapies).
• Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on chronic disease self-management, lifestyle modifications, and the use of modern diabetes technologies (such as CGMs and insulin pumps).
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate care closely with primary care providers, dietitians, nurse practitioners, and other specialists.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical records within the facility's Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Professional Standards: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer case reviews, and continuous medical education (CME) to maintain up-to-date expertise.

Qualifications

• Education: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
• Training: Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency followed by an accredited fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Endocrinology by the ABIM or equivalent.
• Active state medical license (or eligible to obtain).
• Valid DEA registration.
