Position Overview
The organization is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Endocrinologist to join its established endocrinology practice in Dothan, Alabama.
The physician will provide comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of endocrine and metabolic conditions, including:

Diabetes

Thyroid disorders
-
Osteoporosis
-
Adrenal disorders
-
Pituitary disorders
-
Metabolic disorders
-
Other endocrine conditions
The Endocrinologist will work closely with primary care physicians, specialists, diabetes educators, advanced practice providers, and hospital staff to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

Essential Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat endocrine and metabolic disorders
-
Manage patients with diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, and other endocrine conditions
-
Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based medicine
-
Interpret laboratory studies, imaging, and specialized endocrine diagnostic testing
-
Collaborate with primary care physicians and other specialists on patient management
-
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications
-
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
-
Participate in quality improvement initiatives
-
Participate in multidisciplinary care planning
-
Contribute to the organization's academic mission when applicable
-
Participate in teaching and mentorship opportunities as appropriate
Qualifications
Education
-
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
-
Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program
-
Completion of an accredited Endocrinology Fellowship Program
Board Certification & Licensure
-
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism
-
Eligible for or currently holding an active Alabama medical license
-
Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain

Current BLS certification required
