Seeking a board-certified endocrinologist to join our multispecialty private practice providing comprehensive endocrine care, including management of complex diabetic patients with severe end-organ complications, diabetic wound patients, hormone replacement therapy, and gender-affirming care for transgender and gender-diverse patients.

Job Responsibilities

Complex Diabetes Management:
• Comprehensive management of diabetic patients with severe microvascular and macrovascular complications including diabetic kidney disease, retinopathy, neuropathy, and cardiovascular disease.
• Management of diabetic patients with advanced chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease, including those on dialysis.
• Prescribe and monitor SGLT2 inhibitors, GLP-1 receptor agonists, and other advanced diabetes medications in patients with cardiorenal complications.
Diabetic Wound Care and Foot Complications:
• Participate in a multidisciplinary team for the management of diabetic foot ulcers and prevention of amputations.
• Coordinate care with podiatrists, vascular surgeons, infectious disease specialists, and wound care specialists for patients with diabetic foot ulcers, infections, and osteomyelitis.
General Endocrinology:
• Management of thyroid disease, metabolic bone disease, pituitary disorders, and adrenal disorders
• Hormone replacement therapy for hypogonadism and other endocrine deficiencies
Gender-Affirming Care:
• Provide gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) for transgender adults following Endocrine Society clinical practice guidelines
• Prescribe and monitor feminizing hormone regimens (estrogen with antiandrogens such as spironolactone or cyproterone acetate) for transgender women
• Prescribe and monitor masculinizing testosterone therapy (transdermal or depot injectable preparations) for transgender men
• Individualized treatment planning for gender nonbinary patients
• Utilize informed consent model for initiating hormone therapy
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including mental health professionals and primary care providers as appropriate
• Discuss fertility preservation options prior to hormonal interventions
• Monitor for potential adverse effects including thromboembolism risk, cardiovascular disease, and erythrocytosis
• Provide culturally competent, affirming care that addresses health disparities

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
• Board certification or board eligible in Endocrinology
• Experience managing complex diabetic patients with multiple comorbidities and end-organ complications
• Knowledge of diagnostic criteria for gender dysphoria/gender incongruence
• Familiarity with Endocrine Society guidelines for transgender care
• Commitment to ongoing education in diabetes complications, wound care, and transgender medicine
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience managing diabetic patients on dialysis or with advanced CKD
• Experience participating in multidisciplinary diabetic foot care teams
• Experience prescribing gender-affirming hormone therapy
• Training in transgender health through formal education, mentorship, or continuing medical education
• Understanding of appropriate monitoring protocols for reproductive organ cancer risk in transgender patients
