Endocrinology Physician (MD/DO)
Position Summary
The Endocrinology Physician provides specialized care for patients with disorders of the endocrine system, including hormonal and metabolic conditions. The physician evaluates, diagnoses, and manages acute and chronic endocrine diseases while collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat endocrine and metabolic disorders, including diabetes, thyroid disease, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, osteoporosis, and lipid abnormalities

Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans

Manage complex and chronic endocrine conditions with ongoing monitoring and follow-up

Order, interpret, and review laboratory tests, imaging studies, and diagnostic procedures

Adjust and manage pharmacologic therapies, including insulin and other hormone therapies

Provide patient education on disease management, medication use, lifestyle modification, and prevention strategies

Coordinate care with primary care providers and other specialists

Provide inpatient consultations as assigned (if applicable)

Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the medical record

Participate in quality improvement, clinical outcomes monitoring, and compliance initiatives

Adhere to clinical guidelines, regulatory standards, and ethical practices
Qualifications

Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school

Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency

Completion of an accredited Endocrinology fellowship

Board eligible or board certified in Endocrinology

Active state medical license or eligibility for licensure

Strong clinical judgment, analytical, and communication skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Work Environment

Practice settings may include outpatient clinics, inpatient consultation services, or a combination of both

Schedule varies based on practice needs and may include call responsibilities
Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout clinical areas

Manual dexterity to perform examinations and procedures

Ability to assist with patient mobility as required
