Locums | Emergency Medicine | Portage, WI (WI License or IMLC Required) Why This Role

  • Urgent fall and winter shifts with ongoing 2027 needs
  • No call responsibilities
  • Temporary privileges available
  • APP-supported emergency department
  • Located approximately 30 minutes from Madison and 20 minutes from Wisconsin Dells
Assignment Details Start: As soon as credentialed Duration: Ongoing Setting: Emergency Department/Urgent Care Coverage type: Scheduled clinical hours with no call Department: 13 beds Volume: Approximately 40–60 patients per 24 hours Physician volume: Approximately 20 patients per shift Trauma designation: Level IV EMR: Epic Reason for coverage: Medical leave Open Shifts Day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.: - October 24 and 26, 2026 - November 2–3, 7, 9–11, 16–17, 20–21, and 27, 2026 - December 2, 9–10, and 13–16, 2026 Night shifts, 6:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m.: - November 14–15, 2026 Additional coverage anticipated throughout 2027 Clinical Environment Emergency and urgent-care patients No newborn deliveries received through the ED Labor and delivery department onsite Telestroke and tele-ICU services Helicopter transport available onsite 24-hour anesthesia, general surgery, laboratory, orthopedic surgery, and radiology support Collaborative hospitalist team Support Two advanced practice clinicians Four RNs One medical assistant One office staff member No APP supervision required No resident or teaching responsibilities Requirements Board Certified physician Active Wisconsin license or IMLC pathway Active ACLS Active ATLS Emergency Medicine experience Specific shift availability required Credentialing Standard timeframe: Approximately 90 days Temporary privileges available
