Laredo, Texas Area | High-Volume Emergency Department | 1099 Independent Contractor

An excellent opportunity is available for a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician to provide coverage in a high-volume community emergency department in the Laredo, Texas area. This position offers access to advanced clinical resources, comprehensive specialty support, and a collaborative emergency medicine environment focused on delivering high-quality patient care.

• Annual ED Volume: Approximately 47,000 visits

• Department Size: 26,000 square feet

• Treatment Rooms: 38 private rooms

• EMR: Cerner

• Coverage Model: 48 hours of physician coverage daily

• Physician Shifts: 12 hours

• APP Coverage: 22–34 hours daily

• APP Shifts: 10–12 hours

• Ambient/AI scribe technology available for full-time clinicians

Work in a well-equipped emergency department offering:

• Cardiology

• Oncology

• Neurology

• Obstetrics

• Orthopedics

• Urology

• Wound Care

• Bariatrics

Additional emergency department resources include:

• Bedside registration

• Designated patient bathrooms and shower access

• Dedicated gynecology examination room

• In-house laboratory services for rapid turnaround

• Fully digital radiology

• Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI capabilities

Licensure

• Active Texas medical license required

• Active DEA registration required

Board Certification

• Board Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM)

Certifications

• ACLS required

• PALS required

• ATLS required (once in career)

Candidates must be prepared to provide:

• Current CV

• Active Texas medical license

• Active DEA

• ABEM board certification

• Current ACLS and PALS certifications

• ATLS verification
