• Hospital has full specialty backup
• Start: January 2027
• Duration: Ongoing; end date open
• Schedule: Night shifts; 10- and 12-hour shifts
• Certification: ABEM for Lancaster is required, FM/IM ok for Chester Location
• Location: Lancaster, SC — approximately 20 minutes from South Charlotte, NC
• Emergency Department: 24 beds; approximately 31,000 annual visits
• APP Support: 24-hour daily coverage
• Hospital Size: 225 licensed beds
• EMR: Epic

Reimbursement

• Will cover for travel
• Lodging up to $150/night
• Airline expenses are not reimbursed

Columbia Downtown | Columbia Northeast | Kershaw, South Carolina

• Start: December 2026
• Duration: Until permanent FTE hires are completed
• Schedule: Night shifts neede
• Certification: ABEM required
• License: Active South Carolina medical license required

• Coverage: Must float between all three locations based on scheduling needs

Columbia Downtown

• ED: 31 beds
• APP Coverage: 9 AM–9 PM; additional 3 PM–1 AM shift planned
• Physician Shifts: 6 AM–4 PM, noon–10 PM, 3 PM–1 AM, 8 PM–6 AM

Columbia Northeast

• ED: 21 beds
• Volume: Approximately 125 patients/day
• APP Shifts: 8 AM–8 PM, 11 AM–11 PM, 3 PM–3 AM
• Physician Shifts: 6 AM–4 PM, 2 PM–midnight, 8 PM–6 AM

Kershaw

• ED: 15 beds
• Volume: Approximately 85 patients/day
• APP Shifts: 9 AM–9 PM, 3 PM–1 AM
• Physician Shifts: 7 AM–5 PM, noon–10 PM, 9 PM–7 AM

MUSC Submission Checklist

• Active South Carolina medical license
• ABEM board certification
• Provider availability included with submission
• Confirmation of willingness to float between all three sites

Reimbursement

• Lodging up to $150/night at an approved MUSC hotel
• Car rental and gas OR mileage covered
• Airline expenses are not covered
