WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking a BC/BE Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in Ephrata, Pennsylvania. This position offers the opportunity to provide emergency care in a critical access hospital setting with a supportive team of physicians, nurses, technicians, and APPs as needed.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable treating patients of all ages and managing a variety of acute medical conditions in a community-based Emergency Department.

Assignment Highlights

• Assignment Length: Ongoing coverage

• Monthly Commitment: 15–20 shifts per month

• Shift Lengths: 12-hour or 24-hour shifts

• Practice Setting: Critical access hospital

• Patient Volume: Approximately 25–30 patients per day

• Patient Population: All ages

• Emergency Department: 10 beds

• Inpatient Capacity: 10 beds

• EMR: Epic

• Imaging: CT and diagnostic imaging available

• Support Staff: Physicians, nurses, technicians, and APPs as needed

• Credentialing: Temporary privileges may be available for candidates with clean files

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a broad range of emergency medical conditions.

• Provide emergency care to patients of all ages.

• Stabilize patients and determine appropriate treatment and disposition.

• Collaborate with nursing staff, technicians, physicians, and APPs to coordinate patient care.

• Utilize available CT and diagnostic imaging resources to support clinical decision-making.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic.

Requirements

• MD or DO.

• BC/BE in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine

• ABEM certification preferred

• Active Pennsylvania medical license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).

• DEA registration required.

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience.

• Comfortable treating patients across all age groups.

• Ability to work 12-hour or 24-hour shifts.
