Locum Emergency Medicine Physician | Martha’s Vineyard, MA | Night Shifts

Med Ninjas is seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens assignment on Martha’s Vineyard in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts. This three-month opportunity offers consistent overnight shifts at a critical access hospital, with housing and travel assistance available.

Assignment Highlights

• Start date: January 11, 2027
• Contract length: Approximately three months
• Openings: Two
• Schedule: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Approximately 10–13 shifts per month
• No call
• Critical access hospital emergency department
• Approximately 20–24 patients per day
• Annual ED volume of approximately 13,000 visits
• Average workload of 2.5–3 patients per hour
• Pediatric volume: Approximately 14%
• Hospital size: 25 beds
• EMR: Epic
• Limited onsite specialty support
• Hospital housing available
• Ferry transportation covered
• Drive-in physicians preferred, but air travel may be considered

Patient Population

The physician will provide emergency care across all age groups:

• Infants
• Pediatric patients
• Adolescents
• Adults
• Geriatric patients

Candidate Requirements

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
• Internal Medicine and Family Medicine physicians cannot be considered
• Active Massachusetts medical license required
• Licensing assistance is not available
• Active Massachusetts DEA required
• Active ACLS certification
• Minimum of one year of Emergency Medicine experience
• Epic experience required
• Community, rural, or critical access hospital experience is preferred
• Credentialing may take approximately three to four months
