Job description

Job description Emergency medicine locums at a hospital in Portage, WI, about 30 minutes from Madison and 20 minutes from Wisconsin Dells. Pay is $269.50 per hour with no call. Open day shifts start October 24 and run through mid-December, with two night shifts in November, and ongoing coverage continues in 2027. Temporary privileges are available. You see about 20 patients a shift in an ED and urgent care setting with 2 APCs on shift during the day, general surgery, orthopedics, and a collaborative hospitalist team behind you. Telestroke and tele-ICU support the department, and a UW helicopter is on site. Travel is covered.

Job Responsibilities

Provide emergency and urgent care coverage in a Level IV trauma ED, seeing about 20 patients per shift, 40 to 60 patients in 24 hours across the department. Work with 2 APCs on day and evening shifts. Use telestroke and tele-ICU services and coordinate transfers with the on-site UW helicopter. Chart in Epic. No call.

Qualifications

Board certified in emergency medicine. Wisconsin license or IMLC. ACLS and ATLS.

Working Hours

Days 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM: Oct 24, Oct 26, Nov 2 to 3, Nov 7, Nov 9 to 11, Nov 16 to 17, Nov 20 to 21, Nov 27, Dec 2, Dec 9 to 10, Dec 13 to 16.
Nights 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM: Nov 14 and Nov 15.
Ongoing coverage needs in 2027.
