Position Overview
An excellent opportunity is available for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician to provide care at freestanding emergency department and urgent care facilities in Southern Indiana.
Physicians will evaluate and treat both emergency department and urgent care patients in a collaborative clinical environment. Two site opportunities are available, including an established ER and urgent care facility and a new emergency medicine opportunity scheduled to open on December 14.

Job Responsibilities
Clinical Setting: Freestanding Emergency Department and Urgent Care
Annual Patient Volume: 27,692 visits
Patient Mix: Approximately one-third emergency department and two-thirds urgent care
Patient Throughput: 2.8 patients per hour
Physician Coverage: 24 hours
Advanced Practice Provider Coverage: 20 hours
Admission Rate: 2.8%
Emergency Department Beds: 12
Trauma Level: None
EMR: Epic
Scribes: Not available
Specialty Backup: None; freestanding emergency department
Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7 AM–7 PM or 7 PM–7 AM
Urgent Care Hours: 7 AM–9 PM daily
Physicians will treat both emergency department patients (approximately one-third of the volume) and urgent care patients (approximately two-thirds of the volume).
Board Requirements: ABEM or BEEM
Certifications: ACLS and BLS required if not board-certified
Target Compensation: $270/hour plus travel
Orientation Rate: 50% of the clinical rate
Site 2: New Emergency Medicine Opportunity
Opening Date: December 14
Location: Southern Indiana

Expected Patient Volume: Approximately 40 patients per day
Physician Coverage: 24 hours
Advanced Practice Provider Coverage: One APC; shift times to be determined

Qualifications
Required life-support certifications as specified for the applicable site.
Ability to work 12-hour day or night shifts.
Comfortable treating both emergency department and urgent care patients at Site 1.
