Schedule: 12-hour shifts (10-hour advanced practice provider coverage also in place)

Position Overview

Provide emergency medicine physician coverage in an emergency department setting.

Annual emergency department volume: 12,000

EMR: Epic

Required Qualifications

MD/DO

Completion of an ACGME/AOA-approved 3-year residency program in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine

Active, unrestricted Virginia medical license

Active DEA with a Virginia address covering schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5

Board certification/eligibility as accepted by the site (Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine)

3-month proctorship required

ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required if not board certified in Emergency Medicine or not Emergency Medicine trained

NRP required for non-ABEM providers

Case logs required for the past 2 years

Candidates must have at least two years of clinical experience within the past five years to qualify.

Credentialing / Onboarding Items

Immunization and TB compliance required (including MMR/Varicella documentation and TB testing within required timeframes)
