Schedule: 24-hour physician coverage model (advanced practice provider coverage also in place)

Position Overview

Provide emergency medicine physician coverage in an emergency department setting using a team coverage model.

Clinical Scope Highlights

Annual emergency department volume: approximately 28,000

Emergency department beds: 15

Acuity: Level 3

EMR: Epic

Required Qualifications

Completion of residency in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine

Active, unrestricted Louisiana medical license

Active DEA with a Louisiana address

Louisiana controlled substance registration

Board Certification required in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine (as accepted by the site)

ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required as applicable to board status/training pathway

Case logs required for the past 2 years

Proof of completed CME for the past 2 years

Moderate sedation modules required during onboarding and reappointment

Must meet supervising physician requirements for NP/PA oversight

Candidates must have at least two years of clinical experience within the past five years to qualify.
